Company Fuel Card:  As an Independent Contractor with Valley Transportation you will receive a fuel card which offers a number of services including fuel, weekly cash advance, and additives.  Service charges are 75 cents per transaction.

Weekly Settlements:  Settlements are paid weekly.  Completed paperwork received by 5:00 pm central time on Fridays will be paid on Tuesday of the following week.  Prepaid two-day USPS envelopes are available at no charge.

Escrow Account:  A $1,500 escrow account is required for all Independent Contractors.  The $1,500 escrow may be paid up front or $250 will be deducted weekly from your settlement until your escrow reaches $1,500 in a six-week period.

Base Plate/Authority:  Total operating authority and licensing package is $2,400.  Valley licenses at 93,000 lbs.  Termination of lease prior to March 1st of the following year will be charged a penalty of $350.  If you are not renewing your lease on March 1st or Valley will assume you are renewing your license.

Fuel Taxes:  Valley will figure and report your quarterly fuel taxes at a low quarterly fee.  Quarterly fee for filing is $85.  Your filing fee and fuel tax fee will be charged on your settlement.

First In First Out Dispatch:  Seniority does not apply.  The first truck to unload and call in is the first truck to load out.

Safety Award Program:  The safety award program is based on prompt courteous customer service, log compliance, timely paperwork, maintenance and an accident, claim free record.  To be eligible you have to be here for 6 months.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing:  Paid for by Valley Transportation.  If a driver terminates his lease within one year from date of test $65 is charged back to your settlement.

One Color Truck Lettering:  The cost of truck lettering is $110.  If lease is terminated within one year $110 is charged back to your settlement.

Excellent Revenue:  Average monthly gross revenue before Valley's percentage is $20,000.  A driver can make the difference in this figure ranging from $10,000 to $18,000.

Percentages:  Pulling Valley's trailer your percentage is 70% of the load gross.  At Valley Transportation you are assigned a trailer.  We do not drop and hook.  Pulling your own trailer pays 75% and after 90 days your percentage goes to 77.5% of 100%.

Paid Liability and Cargo Insurance.  Low Cost Collision and Bobtail Insurance are available.

Trucking Insurance:  Paid liability insurance with a $1,000 deductible.
Bobtail Insurance:  Bobtail rate is $46 monthly.
Physical Damage:  Physical damage deductible is $2,500.  To figure your monthly equipment value take .37 x value of your equipment and that equals your monthly rate.  There is a buy-down coverage that can be purchased for $39/month to get the deductible back down to $1,000.
Cargo Deductible:  The cargo deductible is $5,000.  Your cargo deductible can be lowered to $500 by purchasing the Deductible Reimbursement Plan of $50 monthly.  (Premiums subject to change with the policy renewal.)

Rider Policy:  There is a rider policy available for passengers over 10.  For company drivers there is a 90 day probation period before a policy can be brought.  The policy is from March 15th to March 14th of the following year at a cost of $200.

PeopleNet GPS System: All trucks will be outfitted with the PeopleNet system.  Owner Operators will be required to pay a $500 deposit for the system, 2 payments of $250. You will also be charged a usage fee of $60/month. This fee will be charged at the first of the month.
